Why Stop Here? Fueling the Potential of Women & Girls
The 9th Annual Women’s Fund Luncheon was on Friday, May 9th, 2014 at the Hyatt Regency Monterey.
The Luncheon provides an opportunity to connect Women’s Fund donors to the community transformation they support. There were 400 people in attendance!
Nicole Vasquez, Board Chair of the Women’s Foundation of California, shared her inspiring story of overcoming obstacles as a Latina woman in state politics fighting for immigrant’s rights and achieve the “American dream.”
In attendance at the luncheon there were a dozen current and past girl leaders from the Girls’ Health in Girls’ Hand (GHGH) initiative. These inspirational young women shared their experience of growing up in Monterey County and how their lives have been impacted by GHGH. Crystal Zagal from the Girls Leadership Network, represented GHGH with a speech.
The program inspired donations of over $125,000 were raised to change the lives of women & girls across Monterey County.
