September is National Suicide Awareness Month
During this month we will be featuring different organizations doing work across the US who are doing amazing work to prevent suicide, with a special focus on youth and high-risk groups.
To kick off let us introduce you to the totally awesome Trevor Project. The Trevor Project, founded in 1998 by the creators of the Award-Winning short film TREVOR, the Trevor Project is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual and questioning (LGBTQ) young people ages 13-24.
Not only does the Trevor Project provide 24/7 support via a crisis line, text or chat, they also provide resources and online training for young people and adults to become better allies to LGBTQ folks who are struggling.
Check them out, get involved. Raise awareness about suicide.
