“Girls face discrimination and violence every day across the world. The International Day of the Girl Child focuses attention on the need to address the challenges girls face and to promote girls’ empowerment and the fulfillment of their human rights.”
This year’s theme is focused on “Empowering adolescent girls: Ending the cycle of violence.”
Coincidentally, as we celebrate the International Day of Girl, we can also celebrate Malala Yousafzai, an incredibly inspiring young woman, who is the youngest nobel peace prize laureate in history.
So what was is the challenge that I mentioned at the beginning of this blog? I want all of you to post a photo today on Facebook of a girl that inspires you! Please tag Ghgh Monterey in your photos!
