Empowering Halloween Costumes

The Halloween countdown has begun. Why not pay homage to powerful women throughout history?

This Halloween, You could dress up as Amelia Earhart, Frida Kahlo, Rosie the Riveter, or Sonia Sotomayor!

Amelia Earhart, was the first female aviator to cross the Atlantic Ocean alone and set 9 other world records in aviation during her life. What to wear? Brown pants, brown boots, white collard shirt, aviation goggles and aviation cap.

Frida Kahlo, was a revolutionary artist who sought to question and dismantle conventional standards of beauty and felinity in her work.  What to wear? A long cotton dress, a brightly colored shawl, flowers in your hair.

Rose ‘the Riveter’, was representative of millions of women who proved that women can excel at any job they wish to. Rosie was featured in the popular ‘We Can Do It” poster in 1943 to inspire women to enter the industrial workforce during World War II. What to wear? Blue jeans, a denim collard shirt, work boots, and a red bandana.

Sonia Sotomayor, was the first latina woman appointed to the supreme court of the United States of America.  What to wear? A black robe, white handkerchief, low black heels, gold earrings.
