Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) is an annual campaign occurring in April to raise public awareness about sexual assault and educate individuals and communities on how to prevent sexual violence.
Each year during the month of April, community-based organizations, individuals and groups, schools and campuses, as well as rape crisis centers plan activities and events to highlight sexual violence as a public health, social justice and human rights issue and reinforce the need for prevention.
While the theme, slogan, resources and materials for the national SAAM campaign are coordinated by the National Sexual Violence Resource Center our very own Monterey County Rape Crisis Center is planning actions, participating in the campaign and engaging MyLife clubs across Monterey County!
Want to participate in local SAAM actions with the Monterey Rape Crisis Center? Check out their events for the month and the list of participating businesses.
